Garlic Goldfish snacks
The Garlic Goldfish (a perennial favorite Christmas snack) have arrived!
Actually, they were assembled by yours truly, in a couple hours standing at the iron skillet, Worcestershire, Blue Bonnet margarine and garlic powder at-the-ready. Then slow baked until dry and toasty.
(For the uninitiated, this is a snack I’ve made traditionally for years. Originally, I made standard Chex Mix, with the requisite addition of peanuts, pretzels and the like. With a tablespoon of this, a dash of that. I determined two things – people singled out the Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers for consumption so the other ingredients were wasted, and screw this tablespoon-dash thing!)
I cover roughly 9/10 of the bottom of the skillet with Worcestershire, add 1/2 a stick of margarine, and sprinkle garlic powder generously. Then marinate a pan full of crackers until they soak it all up. Transfer all to a turkey roasting pan and bake @ 300* or so, turning every 10 minutes of so to check for burning, until they are all dry and crispy. (I use Blue Bonnet because it’s cheap and takes the high heat.)
I used to make these in massive quantities for Christmas when I was employed and bring them into work. It became such a tradition that folks would start asking me in September if I was bringing in goldfish that year! Thanks to Guffaw in Arizona blog.http://armedlaughing.wordpress.com/2013/12/20/the-garlic-goldfish-have-arrived/

You have to know darkness to appreciate the light
If you study or at least read a little History one can find numerous instances of evil or dark acts being committed by mankind. These acts are usually under the supervision or direction of some sort of Government. Hitler,Stalin,Mao the list goes on an that just the mid 20th century. So when I came across this art it spoke to me of truth. I know what evil is no doubt you do too,but this work of art with just a few words an the right picture spoke volumes. Don't know if it is the season or just feeling pessimistic about life in general today.

VHT epoxy paint for bullet lube
here is how I applied it
1. spray just a little bit in the mixing tube. I just sprayed it until I saw a tiny pool of paint.
2. put in 200 9mm 124gr tc boolits, and do the hippy hippy shakes until they start to stick.
3. put them on the screen and let them dry, drying times may vary but in my 120 degree garage it took about 10 minutes.
4. oven bake on 300 for 10 minutes.
5. repeat
6. repeat Found this on cast bullet forum an it sounds like a inexpensive coating for bullet lube to prevent leading . It is about $9 on Amazon have not tried it myself but I think it is worth checking out for reloading. You want to do this outside for safety, heat in a second hand store cheap toaster oven that you check for the 300 degree. I think a dream whip container to mix the epoxy an bullets should work.

$17 Trillion in debt an still climbing
The United States government is over $17 trillion in debt. That is
over $56,641 of debt for every man, woman, and child in the country.
In the past four years alone, debt has skyrocketed from 75% to more than 105% of GDP. Nothing strike as much fear in a capitalist heart as the loss of $ lets call it wealth since dollars can be converted to wealth the "dollar $" at least all that your worth should not be your only wealth. Land, property, precious metals ie gold, silver an even Art and jewels have all been alternatives to paper money for many years. For good reason the paper money can default an has since it invention, the primary reason has been the greedy people who print it love to go to war an buy votes and they don't mind using your wealth and savings by taxing and devaluing the significance of your hard labor to earn said dollar during better economic times. LBJ did away with silver in our coins in 1964.http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/07/the_year_1965_and_the_destruction_of_american_currency.html reference the link from American Thinker blog and you can draw your own conclusions. Silver coins and silver certificates soon were no longer backed by silver. FDR did away with gold in 1933 but Ford reversed this in 1974.You can legally hold gold coins and bars again but what the Government gifted they can take away. It would not strictly speaking be Constitutional but that has never stopped them before. So diversify your holdings, your wealth should be divided up as best as you can for your age and needs. Talk with a financial adviser for some of your needs but putting all your eggs in all paper is not the best way to go. I'm no financial adviser but my wife is an I know she loves paper and is not a student of history. So study history an see what has worked in the recent past some paper has to held but some should go else where. Thats my 2 cents. Oh and don't think the all seeing eye is not watching they want our wealth. That is one of the reasons for the Patriot Act it is not all about Muslim terrorist.

USS Arizona Memorial
Back in April '72 my ship the USS Newport News stopped in Hawaii on the way to Vietnam and I got a chance to stop by The USS Arizona Memorial. It was a sobering experience, and one I will never forget. Today December 7,2013 should be a time when every American should take a moment to remember those who have given their lives to protect our Nation.
